To me, this is the Go-To software for small business accounting. To check which version and build of Windows you're running, in the search box on the taskbar, enter winver and then select Enter. These sorts of tools allow for breakeven analysis for the business or for any product line or service if you have set your accounts up accordingly. One feature I especially liked as a consultant was the ability to customize a report, then export it to Excel for further analysis or graphing of data. You can also run any of dozens of reports to see any aspect of your business you would ever need to see. QB has a ready made "Snapshot" of your company that is very useful. You can print the paychecks and stubs locally.
If you are unsure about how to handle taxes and withholding etc, you can pay monthly for extended payroll services that does it all for you on-line and tells you what and when to send to the government. If you have employees, you can track what you need to for HR purposes, and you can do payroll. Your categories of expenses and income are completely customizable. This enables you to get your financial tracking accurate to the penny. QB allows you to reconcile both credit card statements and b ank checking accounts. It doesn't matter whether you sell only services, or do custom manufacturing, or whether or not you handle inventory. It is highly flexible to be used in all kinds of business. I became an expert through consulting for small businesses that were using this software. QuickBooks can be self taught and has an excellent public users group that is very helpful for your specific questions. In my consulting business, this was by far the most commonly used accounting software. You are likely to find a friend or acquaintance able to help you. QuickBooks is an excellent choice for any small business because there are knowledgeable users everywhere. I am a retired business consultant now doing accounting for my son's organic farm business.
